https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456826 Summary: RC1 install failed to read DVD Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse@lists.killian.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I decided to install larger disks in my Shuttle SN25P (AMD Athlon 64, 3 SATA disks, IDE DVD drive, nForce chipset). Since a new OS install was required, I thought I would do some testing of 11.1 RC1. I downloaded the 64-bit DVD .iso and burned a DVD-R. I booted the system from the DVD without problem. I selected "Installation", and a kernel loaded. I then found that the install program could not read the DVD. It kept asking me to put CD 1 in the drive. I tried to verify the DVD, but it could not read the drive either. I then took my old 10.2 DVD and tried that, and it installed without problem. So somewhere between 10.2 and 11.1 RC1 something has broken. I am downloading the 11.0 .iso now to try, but you might consider this a ship_stopper, so I am filing this bug immediately. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
