Filesystem mounted or opened exclusively by another program?
Temp1: clean, 63/640848 files, 81269/2559999 blocks
Source Superblock last write time is in the future.
(by less than a day, probably due to buggy init scripts). FIXED

similar message for sda8 & sda11 (/downloads & /home)
****
This was followed by failure to start X windows, falling into console and
asking for root password. When root password entered a message
"invalid password" was displayed. Several attempts were required before the
root prompt was displayed. However, any further input resulted in the "invalid
password" message.
A reboot brought the desktop up without errors.
