So far, debuginfo packages could be enabled by putting %debug_package
and -g into the spec files. I did this, and possibly other people also.
The packages went onto download.opensuse.org and could be installed from
there.
I wonder if the new way of enabling debuginfo packages will make it so
much easier that much more developers will use the feature. It'll
definitely be easier, no doubt.
(Although for me it means that I actually enable debuginfos only on
some target distributions, where I actually need them... ;)
Maybe enabling debuginfo packages should really not be _too_ easy. It
would enough, from my point of view, if its possible to enable it by
editing metadata via osc. Or maybe it could be a reserved feature for
trusted developers, like official packagers (which have a higher quota).
Maybe this can be solved with the planned quota feature?
