https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=834249 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=834249#c0 Summary: yast::network unable to create a bridge interface Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: per@computer.org QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686 on x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 I'm trying to create a bridge interface for use with LXC. On the first attempt it seemed to work, it created a /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-br0 : BOOTPROTO='static' BRIDGE='yes' BRIDGE_FORWARDDELAY='0' BRIDGE_PORTS='' BRIDGE_STP='off' BROADCAST='' ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='' IPADDR='' MTU='' NAME='' NETMASK='255.255.255.0' NETWORK='' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMODE='auto' USERCONTROL='no' You will notice that I forgot to specify what to bridge (BRIDGE_PORTS), so I went back to amend the config. When the interface is listed in the device overview, it is called "bridge" instead of "Network Bridge", and it does not have a device name. When I edit the config, the device type is "ARCnet" instead of "Bridge". I went ahead and changed the startup mode to "on boot" - in the device overview, the device is now called "Unknown Network Device" and the device is "not configured". Pretty weird stuff.
