I formatted all the partitions except Swap on the drive. Did not format swap because my production system uses it. Swap and Test on sda and production (11.1) on sdb. 1. When I log on as User , I get a VGA 640x480 screen (KDE 4.2.2)1280x1024, controls move window around.. Panasonic 17" monitor. Going into YaST --> Hardware --> Graphics Card & Monitor shows the correct size but testing before exit and save comes up as a 640x480 screen and none of the adjustments work. I do not have the Nvidia (GeForce 8400 GS) driver installed yet since it is asking for a dependency that is apparently missing. Something to do with a kernel trace file. Weird part is if I go into the OS as failsafe the desktop comes up as 1280x1024 like it should. going into Sax the test screen still shows 640x480. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot system as normal user. 2. Enter YaST as root 3. Select Hardware --> Graphics Card & Monitor 4. Verify all settings are correct for 1280x1024 (setting appear the same as my 11.1 system) 5. exit and message asking if you want to test it first, select test. Screen comes up as 640X480. none of the adjustment controls work, exit and say save to message. 6. reboot system and log-in as user and you have a 640x480 display. Also checked setting in desktop settings are the look OK. Note: on my 11.1 system test screen comes up in Actual Results: Unusable screen. to large to display things so all functions can be used. Expected Results: a 1280 x 1024 display. Not sure if this is bug or configuration problem. This appears with both Auya and Oxygen.
