https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=435448 Summary: KMail generates insane amount of tempfiles Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer KMail generated an insane amount of tempfiles on my system today: 1.5 GB in 77000 /tmp/tmp*.tmp files :-( Today was the first time I started KMail after updating to 11.1 beta2, so the version change might be related to this. However, lots of the tempfiles are timestamped from today evening, which is the second login after the update. There are also some older KMail tempfiles, but these are less about 270 out of the 77000 files. Some example filenames: /tmp/tmp10006b06.tmp (files with this filename lenghth sum up to 1.3 GB) /tmp/tmp10047e1.tmp (files with this filename lenghth sum up to 190 MB) Maybe the filename length can give you a hint to a mktemp() call which could produce this large number of tempfiles. Most of the tempfiles contain "smtp mail text" (according to "file" output). The others contain various filetypes - after a quick check I'm quite sure they are attachments. Thinking about it again (and checking the timestamps of the older files): could this be the beagle indexer instead of KMail? If so, please reassign the bug to the beagle developers. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
