With >3.7 kernel we don't have to compile ad-hoc as there is already support in mainstream kernel. There are many dongles based on this chipset, mine is based on rtl2832u and tuner FC20012. The bus ID is: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1b80:d393 Afatech DVB-T receiver [RTL2832U] but I know "Gigabyte U7300 DVB-T Dongle" is the same. I resolved the problem recompiling dvb-usb-rtl28xxu.ko with this patch:
