--- Comment #11 from Darren Freeman 2012-03-04 12:55:13 UTC ---
I believe I have had the same problem on openSUSE 11.2 (64-bit), and am still
having it on 12.1 (64-bit). Using a Dell Studio 1537 laptop. The WiFi drops out
under heavy load and it asks for the password again (repeatedly). The only way
to get it to reconnect to the access point is to close the password request and
try to reconnect through network manager.
Often this too will fail, and I have to disable wireless (either through
network manager, or using the switch on the side of the chassis, which appears
to do the same thing) and re-enable it. Often this will also fail, and I have
to issue "service network restart" at the console (and usually kill
knetworkmanager and run it again). Finally, sometimes I have to restart the
computer.
This is why I keep a spare zd1211 USB dongle to fall back on. But it
experiences the same problem, so it just extends the time before a reboot.
I am about to submit a bug related to ESSID having an apostrophe (') in it.
Perhaps this is related, but probably not.
