https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229277 Summary: SUSPEND2DISK_RESTART_SERVICES is not used Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse+build@de-korte.org QAContact: qa@suse.de After resuming from suspend-to-disk, the serial ports are not correctly setup anymore. In this case, a UPS is connected. The connection to the UPS through the serial port is lost after resuming. This means two problems were introduced with openSUSE 10.2 1) In SuSE 10.1, after a suspend to disk, the serial ports were restored to their original state and the aforementioned driver was able to connect to the UPS without restarting (or any interference for that matter). This no longer works. You'll either need to restart the driver or do 'hwscan --all', which both restore the connection. 2) SUSPEND2DISK_RESTART_SERVICES (from /etc/sysconfig/powersave/sleep) could be used to automate this (and may be needed for other services too), but is no longer used (again, this worked in 10.1). I'm using HIBERNATE_METHOD="kernel" ("userspace" crashes on this machine) on a system without ACPI support (acpi=off apm=power-off). Short of failing to monitor a UPS after the resuming from the suspend to disk state, suspend-to-disk works. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
