https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=251320 ------- Comment #1 from uli.2001@gmx.de 2007-03-10 03:39 MST ------- I can add the following information: I am not sure whether the default path is "/" or empty. After the setup program complained about not being able to access the path above, I changed it in the "details" window by removing %2f. After that, it worked, but still showed with address with %2f. I am not sure what was going on here. However, it took forever to download all the files from distribution/10.2/repo/oss/suse/setup/descr (several seconds for each file, even though I have a 4 Mbit/s connection which downloads big files from that ftp server at a fast speed). Furthermore, in the beginning of the setup program, it had trouble loading the e1000 driver of my network card (it was loaded automatically, but then the setup program said that I have to load a network driver first). In the end, the setup over ftp did not work (unfortunately, I forgot the exact reason). All in all, trying to install over ftp was a very disappointing and time consuming try that did not work. I ended up downloading the DVD iso. Then the setup worked fine. In the past (with Suse 9.x), I made very good experiences with the ftp installation which I used several times. I am not sure why it does not work so quick and reliable anymore. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
