http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590968 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590968#c0 Summary: Reboot freezes with SDHC Card in the Reader Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 3 Platform: HP OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: terje@nordland-teknikk.no QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; nb-NO; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.6.2-147.1 Firefox/3.6.2 This is on a HP Compac 8710w mobile workstation (certified for SLED) running openSUSE 11.3 M3/Gnome x86_64. Entering a 4GB SDHC (containing photos and video) in the build-in media card reader, mounts the disk automatically in Gnome (this doesn't work using openSUSE 11.2). However, doing av reboot or restart with the card in the reader, the system freezes at the Initializing screen. A follow up with a cold start (power off and on), then the system startup works ok still with card in the reader. For me it looks like hp 8710w has a built-in Ricoh Xd Card Reader: # lspci | grep Ricoh 02:06.0 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b9) 02:06.1 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b9) 02:06.2 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 03) 02:06.3 SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 20) 02:06.4 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C843 MMC Host Controller (rev ff) 02:06.5 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter (rev 10) 02:06.6 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller (rev 10) # hwinfo | grep Card 9510: 45 78 70 72 65 73 73 20 43 61 72 64 20 73 6c 6f Express Card slo a2e0: 72 74 20 43 61 72 64 20 50 6f 77 65 72 2d 4f 6e rt Card Power-On ae80: 00 0d 20 00 0d 20 00 12 45 09 19 0d 43 61 72 64 .. .. ..E...Card af20: 19 0d 45 78 70 72 65 73 73 20 43 61 72 64 20 53 ..Express Card S 6000-60ff : PCI CardBus 0000:03 6400-64ff : PCI CardBus 0000:03 6800-68ff : PCI CardBus 0000:04 6c00-6cff : PCI CardBus 0000:04 i/o:0 0x6000 - 0x60ff (0x100) "PCI CardBus 0000:03" i/o:0 0x6400 - 0x64ff (0x100) "PCI CardBus 0000:03" i/o:0 0x6800 - 0x68ff (0x100) "PCI CardBus 0000:04" i/o:0 0x6c00 - 0x6cff (0x100) "PCI CardBus 0000:04" <6>[ 0.396654] pci 0000:02:06.0: CardBus bridge, secondary bus 0000:03 <6>[ 0.396673] pci 0000:02:06.1: CardBus bridge, secondary bus 0000:04 <6>[ 10.416625] yenta_cardbus 0000:02:06.0: CardBus bridge found [103c:30c3] <6>[ 10.542356] yenta_cardbus 0000:02:06.1: CardBus bridge found [103c:30c3] Type: 0x07 (PC Card [PCMCIA]) Characteristics: 0x0136 (5.0 V, 3.3 V, PC Card-16, CardBus, PME#) 38: PCI 206.0: 0607 CardBus bridge 39: PCI 206.1: 0607 CardBus bridge Model: "Ricoh xD-Picture Card Controller" Device: pci 0x0852 "xD-Picture Card Controller" Hotplug: CardBus Attached to: #39 (CardBus bridge) # dmesg | grep ricoh [ 10.297582] ricoh-mmc: Ricoh MMC Controller disabling driver [ 10.297584] ricoh-mmc: Copyright(c) Philip Langdale [ 10.297609] ricoh-mmc: Ricoh MMC controller found at 0000:02:06.4 [1180:0843] (rev 10) [ 10.297625] ricoh-mmc: Controller is now disabled. # dmesg | grep Card [ 0.396654] pci 0000:02:06.0: CardBus bridge, secondary bus 0000:03 [ 0.396673] pci 0000:02:06.1: CardBus bridge, secondary bus 0000:04 [ 10.416625] yenta_cardbus 0000:02:06.0: CardBus bridge found [103c:30c3] [ 10.542356] yenta_cardbus 0000:02:06.1: CardBus bridge found [103c:30c3] Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Reboot/restart with the SDHC card in the media card reader 2. 3.
