https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391261 Summary: Long Pause in Booting with Intel Onboard Graphic G33 Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Booting AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: jens.eich@everyconsult.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Hello, I installed 11.0 Factory yesterday with textmode on two different Intel G33-Chip Mainboards, Asus P5K-V and Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R. On both mainboards (and its the same with 11.0 Beta 2 and original Opensuse DVD 10.3) I get a long pause (1-3 minutes) in booting while udev ist working, and traces printed to screen, if I set shared memory for the graphic chip in bios to 1 MB. If I change shared memory to 8 MB in bios, no pause happens. As I only install textmode, I don't understand, why I should waste 8 MB of the memory for this (although I have 8 GB ram...).
