It seems flash-player gives up when the cupsGetDefault()
function call fails because there is no default queue
set on your computer in a way which results a valid value
for cupsGetDefault().
For background information see
http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.3/api-cups.html#cupsGetDefault
Therefore try out if the following helps:
Either
set a default queue via the PRINTER environment variable like
export PRINTER="HP_LaserJet_P1005"
and then run the application which runs flash-player from the
same shell wher you did set the PRINTER environment variable
or
set a server default queue as root via
lpadmin -d HP_LaserJet_P1005
and then run the application which runs flash-player as normal user.
A server default queue is in /etc/cups/printers.conf defined via
<DefaultPrinter HP_LaserJet_P1005>
i.e. with the "DefaultPrinter" keyword.
If flash-player can submit a job to CUPS when a default queue is set,
the bug seems to be that flash-player unnecessarily gives up
when no default queue exists but in this case it should nevertheless
show its queue selection dialog without having a queue preselected
so that the user is forced to manually specify the queue.
