http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564336 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564336#c0 Summary: Xfig (in some installs) cannot find fonts for display Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: foolishewe@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=332360) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=332360) RPMS from the laptop, exhibits the problem User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5 I have 2 machines which I hand installed, a desktop and a laptop. On the desktop, xfig works correctly, on my laptop, xfig cannot find the fonts, e.g. when opening times bold italic, I get "Can't find -*-times-bold-i-normal--13-*-*-*-*-*-ISO8859-*, using 6x13". I'm not able to track down the cause of this, both are reinstalls (with home directories carried over). I've noticed a similar sort of thing mentioned on the forums at http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/427721-xfig-can-find-fonts-suse-11-2..., however the suggested approach at http://www.xfig.org/userman/installation.html#install-ghostfonts appears to have different directory structure layout. For now, I'll give you two different outputs of rpm -q -a to see if you have any suggestions based on this, or if it is a known problem or a duplicate of another bug. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Opensuse 2.Run Xfig 3.Try to key in text as times roman font (any of them seem to trigger it). If the installation/configuration fails, the failure is consistent on that XServer. Actual Results: Xfig pops up an error window displaying something like: "Can't find -*-times-bold-i-normal--13-*-*-*-*-*-ISO8859-*, using 6x13", and a different font is displayed. Expected Results: Xfig would render the font correctly without a warning popup. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
