https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398453 Summary: out of space evil #2 ... Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- For various reasons I again ran out of space: completely. Worse - my /tmp/gconfd2-michael is owned by someone else: so it's necessary to create a new directory - for which there is no space Unfortunately this means that the desktop goes a bit screaming mad: every application spends lots of time popping up dialogs of the form: "An error ocdured while loading or saving configuration information for <app-name>. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly" although there are various kinds of these errors ;-) ~none of them saying anything like "no space available". Some of them suggesting crazy things: "you need to turn on IPv4 networking" and so on ;-) We -badly- need an on-login no-spare-disk-space sanity check that will give a nice dialog, and let the user know that ~nothing is going to work :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
