At first, it seemed that it was just the process of copying the one who failed: Dolphin was blocked and got dark. So, I opened a terminal (konsole) and commanded sync. I killed Dolphin after that. But Dolphin never launched any more. So, I closed my KDE 4 session through the SuSE menu. After that, I logged in my System account under KDE 4 and tried to run Dolphin again. Mean while, I run Thunderbird. It downloaded one mail. Then, at the time when I was to read my mail, I realized that the mouse was non-responsive. And Dolphin was not launched. I thought it was an X issue, so I pressed Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace, once, twice. Again. Againg. I was astonished: I had just a system hang once with SuSE 9.0 Professional in 10 years using SuSE, but with openSuSE 11.2 I had had too many so far: due to radeonhd, okular, and now, might be, Dolphin, but I do not know quite well why or what is the real trigger of this issue. The case is that I just pushed the power button hoping that the system caught the signal and started a shutdown sequence. But it caught not. So, I pressed firmly the power button till the computer powered down. My system is openSuSE 11.2 x86_64 Final, plus all the updates so far the present moment. The kernel currently in use is: Linux *** 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2010-03-16 21:25:39 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux After powering my computer and looked at the boot log for a clue. There were some inodes to be cleared... After I loged into KDE4, Dolphin behaved well, but I noticed that three of the files I moved to my SD prior the failure, although erased from my HD, were empty (0 b) in my SD: So, it seemed that the SD was umounted improperly. I copied more files to my SD without problem.
