--- Comment #18 from Lawrence Somerville 2014-02-25 00:49:19 UTC ---
Hello, Petr Gajdos. As it turns out to deal with other problems I formatted
the openSUSE-containing partition of my virtual “hard-disk drive” and reloaded
the 64-bit, openSUSE-13.1, Linux operating system twice for use as the virtual
“machine” of Oracle Virtual Machine (VM) VirtualBox 4.3.6 r91406. So this has
made a good opportunity for me to test the fix of the LaTeX2HTML problem with
LaTeX code of the form \frac{1}{2} that you or other people have kindly made in
the latex2html software package provided by openSUSE 13.1. First I noticed
that the version 2008-26.4.1 of the software package latex2html provided via an
openSUSE-13.1 Web page matches the version of the source code for latex2html
that someone provided me in this posting “thread” that likely contains the fix
to my posted problem; secondly I noticed that the latest “build” date was
January 10, 2014, long after Petr Gajdos's November 26, 2013 notification of
the fix, So that's good! It meant that there was a chance that the January
10, 2014 “build” could include the fix. So I tried that openSUSE-13.1-provided
version 2008-26.4.1 of latex2html after performing the editing in my “Comment
2” in this “thread.” And gratefully I confirm that the problem in LaTeX2HTML
rendering LaTeX code of the form \frac{1}{2} has been fixed in the software
package latex2html 2008-26.4.1 provided by an openSUSE-13.1 repository for my
installation of the 64-bit, openSUSE-13.1, Linux operating system! Thank you
or whoever made that fix!
In Yet another Setup Tool 2's (YaST2's) Software Management I searched for
“latex2html” and then after it was found in that search clicked on that name.
Next in the lower pane of Software Management I clicked on “Dependencies” and
saw that texlive-dvips was listed for “Installed Version” and “Available
Version” “Provides:”. So based on Petr Gajdos's report that texlive-dvips was
missing from the dependencies of of the latex2html package, that omission
appears to have been fixed.
I have a minor correction to my posting in “Comment 2” of this “thread.” There
I have the phrase
“I added a ? after each # in lines 16,454-16,455 as follows:”. However, each
of those lines contains two #s. So here is the corrected phrase: “I added a ?
after the first # in each of the lines 16,454-16,455 as follows:”. Sorry, I
made that error. The line numbers for the corresponding lines of code are
slightly higher in the more recent “build” and/or version 2008-26.4.1 of the
software package latex2html than the line numbers given above.
In addition, I suggest that the edits I mentioned in "Comment 2" be checked
and, if necessary to be made, be made in the version of the software package
latex2html that openSUSE makes available via its repositories. Thanks for your
kindly provided help already!
