https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686186 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=686186#c0 Summary: bash completion on environment variables broken with aaa_base-11.3-8.9.1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: d.a.van.delft@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; nl; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 SUSE/3.6.16-0.2.1 Firefox/3.6.16 since aaa_base-11.3-8.9.1 bash completion with an environment variable is broken. I have some env's defined which hold a very long directory name. Before aaa_base-11.3-8.9.1 I could do $ cd $varia<TAB> and get it completed to the contents of $variable: $ cd /a/very/long/directory/path/which/i/dont/like/typing/each/time Starting at aaa_base-11.3-8.9.1 it gets completed to $ cd \$variable which sort of defies its purpose because I now have to manually remove the backslash. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. export variable=/a/very/long/directory 2. cd $varia<TAB> 3. Actual Results: cd \$variable Expected Results: cd /a/very/long/directory Traced it back to the mentioned aaa-base update, which does have a change in the auto-completion by /etc/profile.d/complete.bash -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
