Dear L. A., yast2-bootloader doesn't support all scenarios of booting and it is
also not possible. The goal of yast2-bootloader is support installation and
enable user to change booting but not everything!
Next general problem is that yast2-bootloader tries each time to propose
configuration which boot to new installation. It is logical because
installation has 2 steps split by reboot. It usually overwrite other
installation (booting) and users hate it but yast2-bootloader is only program
and it doesn't know decide what user wish to do. It is necessary to change
settings in UI.
You can use LILO only UI configuration in YaST was canceled. ELILO is supported
I don't see there any big problem just switch bootloader type ;-)
XFS was problem in openSUSE 11.1 and you have to take care about configuration
of yast2-bootloader. only configuration where GRUB is installed to MBR works.
openSUSE 11.2 should warning you if you have wrong configuration of GRUB.
yast logs are important because there are written "all" changes doing by yast.
I can see there your partitioning of disk and also settings of bootloader etc.
It is very helpful because I can analyze problem and not only write my opinion
what should happened. :(
YaST logs are stored in /var/log/YaST2/ please pack the directory and attach it
to the bug.
