This has been fixed upstream: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9139. Please integrate the patch into a future update to 12.3. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up samba to use domain users but no winbind 2. Attempt to connect using a domain user with no matching local system id 3.
