https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=279938 Summary: YaST "Network Card" setup blocks network access and doesn't restore it if aborted Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4plus Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@yahoo.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com In openSuSE 10.3 alpha 4, when setting up a network card with YaST / Network Devices / Network Card, network access is interrupted as soon and as long as the dialogue is active. As setting up network devices can take some time and accessing the network is not trivial ( you might want to look up what to set your network devices to, or other operations are in progress ), this is unacceptable. It suffices to stop network services on saving the new settings and restarting them afterwards. On top, if you abort the setup to regain network access, network access remains inactive and can only be restored by restarting the network services manually. This behaviour is not reflected by nm-applet "connection information" it shows the connection as up and running. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
