You are making fun of this, so I'll probably do the same till moment someone
calls a quit.
1) I did test Compiz and it doesn't make me any trouble, it simply doesn't work
:)
Like many advanced desktop things developed this days, it depends on OpenGL and
Mesa libraries installed on a computer system. I have Nvidia graphics adapter,
their driver and their version of libraries, so what I tested as not working,
will work differently on pristine system, or system with different set of
software.
To test your claims one would have to install exactly the same software and
have exactly the same hardware, which is not easy to match.
Even if one can match graphic chip, there is not guarantee that it will behave
the same way in the graphic adapters designed by different vendors.
Even if the card is the same make and model, there is no guarantee that vendor
did not make design changes.
2) I'm not supporter of Compiz as I use KDE which for long time has a problem
with it, but I exercise tolerance for other people choices. Majority of GNOME
users wants few nice effects Compiz provides and they have them.
Those that can't get Compiz to work should remove it.
It is that simple and it works fine, like in Comment #3.
It can happen that some libraries will have to stay as other software looks for
them and when symbols provided by them are missing programs will error out.
Such libraries exist for Pulse Audio, and make no harm other then occupying
some bytes on hard disk. Forcing them out is possible, but it is not wise.
