Since proxy.site is only in the DNS, I can imagine with such a nsswitch.conf line. Then again, the same nsswitch.conf works on my home box, where: 01:19 ichi:/dev/shm # wget google.de --01:19:35-- http://google.de/ => `index.html' Resolving www-cache.gwdg.de... 134.76.10.66 Connecting to www-cache.gwdg.de|134.76.10.66|:3128... connected. So I am kinda puzzled what is wrong.
