https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306319 Summary: initrd creation fails when software RAID is used Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: registration@grek.tuffmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I tried to install openSUSE 10.3 Beta2 (32bit) using software RAID on two SATA disks and installation failed with message "An error occurred during initrd creation." I decided to reinstall openSUSE without using software RAID and installation finished successfully. Afterwards, I tried to reproduce the problem on VMMachine (I needed my computer working so I didn't want to experiment directly on it). Exactly the same problem occurred and I saved logs and made a screenshot this time (attached). I quickly tried this on another machine (I can't give you details about it's hardware, though) and ran into the same problem so I guess it's very easily reproducible. Since this bug makes whole Software RAID useless on every computer I set severity to "Critical". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
