Take note that without physically removing the IDE drive containing the
functioning 10.2 installation that I do NOT want upgraded (it contains my
hardware 1.5 TB raid that has no driver in 10.3 yet) I cannot install 10.3 Beta
3 at all. With the 10.2 IDE drive in place, All alpha and beta versions are
affected by the change in HDx to SDx naming (ATA to SATA) and GRUB gets written
to the IDE drive and not the SATA drive containing the MD raid. The first time
that happened, I was truly alarmed because it was unexpected and I thought I
had lost my 1.5TB hardware raid, but my 10.2 repair disk saved the day. Now,
if 10.3 repair would do the same :) But for now, the root cause is the
IDE/SATA issue followed by the upgrade bootloader failure which is the subject
of this bug. Is the install upgrade bootloader different than the install new
bootloader? It would seem so.
