http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=989871 Bug ID: 989871 Summary: System goes into emergency mode on boot (lvmetad problem) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: nwr10cst-oslnx@yahoo.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.21 (KHTML, like Gecko) konqueror/4.14.18 Safari/537.21 Build Identifier: On first boot after install, the system went into emergency mode. The messages indicated a problem with the partition that I am mounting at "/xhome" (really my home partition). A check of "/dev/mapper" showed that it was not available. I ran "vgchange -a y", and then resumed the boot. This worked. I have since edited "/etc/lvm/lvm.conf", and changed "use_lvmetad = 1" to "use_lvmetad = 0". This corrects the problem. I'm pretty sure that we have seen this before. Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
