Sorry, Michael, I didn't want to leave it unbootable. I used the installer to
perform an "upgrade" to the same version, and now it boots.
I didn't change anything.. I just let it detect the old settings and run.
I'm using whichever boot-loader is the current default. Honestly, the existence
of grub2 was something of a surprise to me. But YaST2 was telling me I was
using grub2.
Hopefully you can reproduce this by performing a similar procedure. (I hope
from within an emulator.) Install, fdisk a second drive with the same layout,
file copy, then try to install the boot-loader from rescue.
