I would like to confirm that this is not only a problem with OpenSUSE, but with
SLES11rc4 as well.
In my situation, I am performing an http:// install.
The installation source server is an internal network, and known to be good,
free of cksum issues, md5sums are all correct etc. We have installed from this
source repo many many many times.
The installation target server had a system date of 2001. After specifying an
http:// install and the source server, the target was able to connect to the
source, but the installation failed with the exact same failure as comment #1.
This is reproducible 100% of the time.
Try setting your installation target's system date to something like 2001 or
1980 or whatever. Perform a network install. Watch it die.
