https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=339174 Summary: wireless problems on ipw3945 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: scrute@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: IS&T I'm having problems with my wireless on a Dell D830 that I think are related to this. It could be related to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=303834, or https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=308895 The strange thing is, sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't connect to the wireless at all and I've not found a pattern yet. If it doesn't connect, iwconfig still thinks it's bound to a access point, and if I manually assign an IP address, then it works. In the log I get "Error getting killswitch power: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.KillSwitch.NotSupported - Access type not supported" repeated over and over again. I tried the suggestion in comment 8 (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=303834#c8) basically disabling wireless with hardware, then trying to connect and re-enabling in hardware and wireless is now working again now. very strange. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
