http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1015626 Bug ID: 1015626 Summary: Somehow "corrupted" setup of PULSE and ALSA decives, maybe inherited from several dist. upgrades Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound Assignee: tiwai@suse.com Reporter: michaelof@rocketmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 706526 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=706526&action=edit alsamixer screenshot After upgrading to 42.2. "qutecom" softphone stopped working, no sound anymorem whatever "audio setup" tried inside qutecom. Replaced by twinkle. Worked itself, but echo on other party's side, unusable. While narrowing down this issue regarding general VoIP settings and my VoIP server (a German Fritzbox) it comes out, that I have a somewhat strange audio setupm and I'm more than confused about the "interaction" of ALSA and PULSE on my 42.2 box. Box is a ZOTAC ZBOX nano CI320, with a builtin sound card. As I'm using a Logitech USB headset, starting with 13.1 in 2014 was a pain regarding sound as any application like Amarok, qutecom, kwave etc. has it's own way to select internal sound card vs. USB headset etc. - simply a pain in the neck that time. But as I don't use speakers, only the headset, I've decided in 2014 to DISABLE the internal soundcard completely in BIOS, to have only the USB headset left, to reduce complexity. As described, worked fine (more or less :-)) until 42.2. upgrade. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
