https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=683022 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=683022#c0 Summary: Active directory login does not work in kdm Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Banshee AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Despite being able to joint the domain by yast, in kdm's domain selector drop down list there is only one "domain": null. I assume the reasons are the following: -kdm (or any xdm) is started BEFORE winbindd I'm afraid that winbindd (and all the other samba services) should be started before kdm. -nmbd cannot be started because of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679182 In fact on my machine even winbindd was unable to stort, not only apparmor. And finally even after disabling apparmor and restarting kdb after winbind was started, domains are incorrectly listed in kdm's domain selector. Some domains appear twice, and even non-domains appear amongst domains. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Join an active directory domain by yast, instructing it to make AD users being used as unix users (in nsswitch). 2. Restart the machine 3. Try to login into an active directory domain account on the local machine in kdm/gdm. Actual Results: Domains are not even listen in the display manager Expected Results: Domain user acconts should be able to be used ad unix users -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
