https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=445455 Summary: rsync segfaults reproducibly Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fkamogee@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User Hello, I have a backup script based on rsync that was working on openSUSE 10.2, but since moving to openSUSE 11.0 (clean install), rsync (from the OSS repo) crashes every time I run the backup. I find a message like this in /var/log/messages: Nov 15 21:15:43 discostu kernel: rsync[8182]: segfault at 10 ip 0807890b sp bfc090b0 error 4 in rsync[8048000+57000] Googling lead me to this report/patch: http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2008-April/020751.html This caused me to update rsync to 3.0.4 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Archiving:/Backup/openSUSE_11.0, and now it does not crash. Thought you'd like to know. If you want to post a patched binary, I could test it.
