OK, the reason is that PulseAudio is trying to behave too smart and mute the
Headphone volume although this volume is shared by both the built-in headphone
and the dock headphone jacks.
Running
amixer -c0 set Headphone unmute
should recover.
The problem is that the codec has only two DACs while there are three outputs.
So, two of three must share one DAC, but this information isn't explicitly
exposed to user-space, thus PulseAudio doesn't know it shouldn't mute.
A simple solution would be to use a single DAC for all outputs (as Master).
This, of course, means that you cannot control separate volumes for headphone
and speaker any longer.
