I simply installed openSUSE 11.1 RC1 from the DVD into a formatted partition. The log files attached to bug #450246 were created on installation. The DVD installation routine automatically configured for an NVIDIA driver although there was no package for NVIDIA the driver on the DVD or in the online main OS and non-OS repositories. The faulty configuration is definitely due to the DVD installation routine... +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #450246 +++ Installed sytem boots to level 3 but connot start KDE4 login manager. Sax2 can be successfully run after loging in as "root" in level 3 in terminal mode. Strangely, Sax2 shows 3d acceleration to be active although no option to install 9.6xx NVIDA drive in software management is possible. Error on entering command kwin in terminal mode is X-server cannot be found. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
