https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=232636 Summary: NFS Server is slow Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: RC 5 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: k-epsilon@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Uploading small files to the NFS-Server is very slow. For example i copied /etc to the server (cp -r /etc /nfs) and monitored the transfer rate with gkrellm which is between 50 kB/s and 100 kB/s. Uploading large files (100MB) gives the expected transfer rate of 10 MB/s. The transfer rate can be enhanced (~5 MB/s) by changing the option "sync" to "async". But the NFS-FAQ does not suggests this option. The used optins are: /var/lib/nfs # more etab /nfs/share 10.0.0.0/24(rw,sync,wdelay,hide,nocrossmnt,secure,no_root_squash,no_all_squash,s ubtree_check,secure_locks,acl,mapping=identity,anonuid=65534,anongid=65534) Server and client have an Intel Network adapter which uses the e100 module. The Client does not use any mount options. SUSE 10.0 on the same machine is much faster. Even copying with scp is above 500 kB/s. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
