https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=288750 Summary: Home bank issues with java+firefox on x86_64 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Java AssignedTo: bnc-team-java@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: martin.schlander@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=149033) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=149033) Right click on the failed applet -> java console -> this error report / log I have installed Firefox i586 on my x86_64 a5. When I try to logon to my home bank with java 1.5+plugin (both i586) the java applet for login begins to load but fails. Trying with java 1.6+plugin (both i586) Firefox crashes even. I have verified that java+plugin should work on java.com - and about:plugins also displays java as being available. I have the x86 version of alpha on my laptop - on that the homebanking works with both Java1.5 as well as java 1.6 without issues. On previous X86_64 versions of openSUSE I haven't been able to make it work with java 1.5 either - but I've worked around that by using java 1.4.2 - which worked very well. But I was always confused since it worked well with java 1.5 on my i586 systems. But it never worked on x86_64 - even though I always used i586 Firefox+java+plugin. I wonder if this can be fixed. Otherwise I suggest making Java 1.4.2 available on the non-oss repo. Here in Denmark almost all banks use the same Java-system for home banking which is developed by "The Banks' Computing Central" (BEC). So this problem will cause big problems for just about all x86_64 users here. And probably simililar solutions are used in other countries too I assume. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
