https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=356923 Summary: Problems handling CD drive Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rplewe@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I was (legally) ripping a CD with grip. When the CD was ripped and before the encoding was done, I wanted to retrieve the CD. This failed with the "eject" button in grip (resulting in Unlock failed: 16Eject failed: 5 on the shell I had started grip from), and when I tried the eject button of the CD drive it resulted in failure with the attached message in /var/log/messages. Waiting for a couple of minutes and trying again to retrieve the disk worked. This behavior is not deterministic (meaning I was able to retrieve the disk with both HW and SW button before). I don't think this behavior is correct: once I press the HW eject key my intentions are very clear and time for discussion for the kernel is over: just kill whatever blocks the drive and give me the disk. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
