Another version of /etc/init.d/mysql
Another version of /etc/init.d/mysql. This version is a bit more extreme,
because this version allows it to control databases from the command line.
I'll give some examples:
Start all databases defined in /etc/sysconfig/mysql and that have been
configured in /etc/my.cnf (normal usage during boot process):
# rcmysql start
Start a (1 or more) databasefrom the command line (probably used for testing)
# rcmysql start mysqld2 (... mysqldN)
Especially the latter is rare, as it is not normal to control
multiple service from an rc script. But I think it should be no problem at
all to do it like this.
The attachment contains the new version, and a diff against the current
version. As addon; the tarbal contains a diff against the version that I
attached to this bug on Friday.
BTW: more information about multiple mysql servers can be found at:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/multiple-servers.html
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysqld-multi.html
Ah, the next version should unset the variables that are defined in
parse_arguments to make sure they are set again for each database.
