--- Comment #32 from Hans Petter Jansson 2007-11-07 19:48:45 MST ---
It looks like I've finally made a breakthrough on the biggest issue here - that
of at-spi-registryd running but not enabling accessibility consistently. We had
a patch against gnome-session called gnome-session-main-init.patch that delayed
the launching of at-spi-registryd so some environment variables would be
available to it. This was meant to prevent it from blocking the logout process.
However, the at-spi-registryd launch was pushed too far out. It wouldn't launch
until after the session got started, which in most cases would be too late.
You can test the fixed packages I have (gdm, libbonobo, gnome-session) by doing
the following, as root:
zypper addrepo
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/hpjansson:/fixes-10.3/openSU...
10.3-hpj
zypper refresh
zypper install -r 10.3-hpj libbonobo gdm gnome-session
If you want to see all the packages I've made available as fixes to openSUSE
10.3, do:
zypper search -r 10.3-hpj
I'll use this repo to add future fixes for testing. I'd really appreciate help
ensuring that this really works.
