Someone added cdrtools back to OpenSUSE Factory:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/multimedia:apps/cdrtools
However, the *LICENSING PROBLEM* is still unresolved, which caused cdrtools to
be removed in the first place.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856805
The reason why Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian etc. do no longer use cdrtools is that
the license is debated, and thus OpenSUSE may lack a proper license to
distribute binary packages of cdrtools either.
This *really* needs to be carefully handled by the legal team. I cannot find
evidence of a confirmation from the legal team that cdrtools suddenly can be
distributed again.
Unfortunately, the owner of the package at OpenSUSE also seems unwilling to
discuss the licencing issue. Please, someone get some official legal
decisionmaker from OpenSUSE on board, to find a proper solution. Instead of
leaving users in the muddy water of Schily-hates-Debian FUD. Someone must be
able to decide whether this is a problem for OpenSUSE too, or not. Thank you.
