Anton Moiseev
AFAIK starting textmode programs such as ncurses YaST in the terminal is not supported.
Ok, I see that I could provide wrong test-case as when yast is started from terminal emulator, it tries to show its ncurses interface, so kdesu is not good for that testing. But actually I did not want to start ncurses yast with kdesu (it was just an attempt to receive some more info in console output) - I want to start GUI yast from kickoff menu or from alt+f2 krunner interface and this now fails for me, though this did work few minutes ago. So again, I press alt+f2, type yast (see "YaST" option with green label on top of suggested options list), press enter - green label with yast mascot starts jumping near the mouse cursor and nothing happens then, "ps -A | grep yast" gives nothing. This starts working after reboot - I can start yast gui with no problems until it starts failing again. P.S. The described behavior did last for about 30mins/hour - did try to run yast multiple times with no success during this time as described above, but just before I wanted to submit this comment, tried to start it again and it did start. So it seems that during this time something silently prevented it from being started and this reason has gone somewhere somehow. This does not mean, that this will not happen again though, so please reopen the bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
