Summary|Add Subgroups to YaST Control Center |new concept for YaST (Qt) Control Center
--- Comment #4 from Duncan Mac-Vicar 2007-10-11 06:04:09 MST ---
I think the mockup makes a lot of sense. However patching our current one to do
that makes no sense.
I would like to get a new concept of a control center, ǹot just patching what
we have, so we have it when we start the port. The resources needed to do it,
is a different topic.
Reassigning to usability. UX guys, can you come up with a concept? (and please
see what Qt 4 offers in terms of eyecandy )
The GTK control center was redesigned and seems to match the Gnome desktop jsut
fine. I am involving Jörg in case we need to take any idea from it, of if
anything in the development of this concept can be taken also to the gtk one.
Schubi, Thomas, Stefan, Jörg, I also would like you to involve yourself in
what usability team discusses.
There are lot of problems to solve here:
- too much modules
- the user usually sometimes has no clue what to look for
- the users are to blind to use the search box.
And for us:
- control center code needs love
