I know, that the new rpm _should_ be enough, but the KOTD is version 2.6.24_rc2
at the moment :) and this is my primary system, not a test machine.
For example, I had to remove the ipw3945d and ipw3945-kmp-default package, too.
It's always good to have a backup.
My experiences:
1. kernel-default-2.6.24_rc2-20071112164150.i586.rpm installed, system rebooted
2. modprobe smsc-ircc2 fails, message is the same like before ('No such
device')
3. result of the process in Comment #7 is the same, dmesg says the same, module
is loaded.
But... I'm getting very unsure about this. Do I really need this module? I'll
test my phone with gnokii and check back later.
