I do not agree with the WONTFIX resolvement. First, since when are cosmetic
problems any reason not to fix? But more important: OpenSUSE is supposed to be
user friendly and open for new users, and thus also have the least amount of
cosmetic bugs possible. Not only after installation during normal use, since
the installation procedure is the first (new) users get a first impression of
the quality, look and feel of the distribution. Certainly for new users who
have to use these helper texts and functions.
For user-friendliness, the highlight function is less important then the first
layout that is removed by it, this since the bold text is used to help users
and was there in the first place. These bold texts are needed to clarify the
text and make it readable.
This noted, any flaw in a helper function that distorts the help text and the
purpose of the help text is in that sense not helping the user, nor the user
experience and the impression of OpenSUSE making on the (new) users. And since
it is very likely the user makes mistakes during the typing for this
highlighting, this soon has an impact.
Proposed solution:
It does not look like a big problem to fix. The design is flawed by somehow
'forgetting' to place the original layout back. If it such a big problem to
fix, why not replace the full help text, including layout settings, only when
the input field is set to blank again?
