I've reviewed the source code and actually smpppd does support connection by
domain name.
dsl.cc: pty_cmd += " " + dslconfig->modem_ip + " --nolaunchpppd";
So, pptp utility itself supports specifying of server name, hence it's
supported by smpppd.
I just don't get it why is the variable called "modem_ip" since it has nothing
to do with modems. It's not mandatory to rename it (it resides in three dsl*
files and probably some other applications use modem naming, e.g. kinternet),
then yast will still use MODEM_IP configuration string.
PS: I hardly believe NM will achieve such functionality in the nearest feature,
though let's hope.
