--- Comment #53 from alvin george 2009-03-02 02:06:16 MST ---
had the same problem. but the freeze occurs within 2-3 minutes of logging into
kde4/kde3 and starting firefox.
system works fine as long as i am in text mode.
when i log in to kde, and starts firefox, it freezes within 2-3 mins.
upon freeze only sysrq works.
no logs are available nor any oops message is printed.
using sysrq, the state is similar to that in comment #37.
and the stack trace is only upto the spinlock call. from the reiserfs calltree.
and sysrq does not respond unless i switch to a text virtual terminal before
the freeze occurs.
firefox had the beagle extension enabled. and beagle was installed (by
default).
the sysrq task list shows two beagle processes. with one in the 'R' state
with the cpu_time increasing indefinitely.
now unistalled the beagle, disabled the firefox beagle extension. and it is
running fine. hope this info helps.
if it is a bug with the reiserfs module, where can i get the patch.
