This would be a bug, simply because the soname compiled into the
library would destroy this on the next ldconfig. IMHO the configure
scripts of pascal should be able to check the libncurses for the
required library functions if not found in a libtinfo and then use
-lncurses instead of -lncurses -ltinfo.
For binary programs also symbolic links do not work because the
runtime linker does not allow such dirty workarounds.
To solve the problem you may load down the source rpm and build
the binary rpm by using the command rpmbuild.
