Sorry, I have a problem understanding this bugreport.
As I don't know what SMS (Storage Management Services) or OPAL mode is and a
quick search hasn't show anything concrete.
Anyway, from your session log it seems that the firmware fails to negotiate the
blksize option with the tftp server.
Both tftp and atftp servers are able to negotiate the blocksize.
At least it works for me using their supplied clients.
What's the tftp server? What are its options?
Could you attach a log from the tftp server?
atftpd has a --no-blksize option, which disables changing the blocksize
Similarly, tftp has a --refuse tftp-option, causing a tftp option not being
accepted.
This could be the cause.
