Usual work being done when freeze happens is scrolling in Firefox. With the freeze the screen gets scrambled. Magic SysRq keys don't work. On serial (usb) console nothing is logged. Also no crash dump in /var/log/message or X.org.log. Failsafe boot doesn't prevent freeze. About the system: CPU: AMD Turion ML-34 RAM: 1.5GB Video: ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M Installation: OpenSuSE 11.4 final 32bit installation with KDE desktop. Only suspicious thing found during boot: ati_ixp4x0 quirk not complete. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install OpenSuSE 11.4 on similar HW with Radeon 200M 2.Use LibreOffice or surf with Firefox (e.g. search for similar bugs in this bugzilla) Actual Results: System will freeze with screen corruption, usually within half an hour.
