Hello,
It seems I've got a simular problem.
Since I've installed opensuse on an encrypted software raid partition dbus is
flooding my /var/log/messages.
the logging is flooded every 2 seconds with these messages
/*snip*/
Apr 30 10:56:35 luggage dbus-daemon[1118]: **** POLL SYNCING MD
/sys/devices/virtual/block/md1
Apr 30 10:56:35 luggage dbus-daemon[1118]: **** CHANGING

I've redirected the dbus logs to its own logfile to make the message log more
readable, but that is ofcourse a workaround that does not solve the problem.
workaround :
create this file /etc/rsyslog.d/dbus-daemon.conf
# start #
# get rid of all the dbus logging in messages
if ($programname == 'dbus-daemon') or \
($programname startswith 'dbus-daemon') \
then -/var/log/dbus-daemon
& ~
dbus-daemon.* -/var/log/dbus-daemon
# end #
And add a logrotate to prevent it from filling the harddrive
create /etc/logrotate.d/dbus-daemon
# start #
# logrotate to keep dbus logs in check
/var/log/dbus-daemon {
compress
dateext
maxage 365
rotate 5
missingok
notifempty
size +4096k
create 640 root root
sharedscripts
postrotate
/etc/init.d/syslog reload > /dev/null
endscript
}
# end #
